Introduction to Tai Chi and Qigong

Introduction to Ba Duan Jin Qigong

Ba Duan Jin Qigong is a traditional Chinese health and fitness routine that has been practiced since the Song Dynasty (960-1279). Practicing this form helps relieve stress, improves posture, increases balance and flexibility, and brings a sense of peace.

Join us for a one hour introduction to Ba Duan Jin Qigong.

Baduanjin Qigong

10-Day Online Qigong Bootcamp

This class is the prerequisite to all of our Level I Qigong Classes. Each day covers new material of an 8 part set. Attending all 10 classes is highly recommended.

Min. 8, Max. 15 participants (including those repeating the class)

Baduanjin Qigong: Review

Prerequisite: 10-Day Online Bootcamp

This is a practice for those who have recently attended Baduanjin Bootcamp and serves to bridge the gap between learning the form in Bootcamp and being able to practice without any instruction. The practice will consist of a short warm up followed by a guided practice.

Baduanjin Qigong: Refinement

Prerequisite: 10-Day Online Bootcamp

This class is for those who regularly practice Baduanjin and would like to go deeper into their practice. We’ll cover movement refinement and breathing.

Additional Qigong Classes

Seated Qigong and Meditation

Strengthen your body and spirit through gentle exercises that will bring you into better alignment.

This 30 min. class is particularly good for those who may be working on rehabilitating their bodies and minds, or for those who have balance issues that may prevent them from participating in other classes.

Class Format

  1. Warm Up
  2. Qigong exercises focusing on physical alignment and breathing.
  3. Meditation
  4. Cool down

Dao Yin Shu

In 1973, a wooden chest was excavated from the Mawangdui Tombs. Inside was a silk painting of ancient health preservation exercises. Of the 44 movements in the painting, 12 have been chosen by the Chinese Health Qigong association to be used as a set.
